Another element which I think increases the purity and relationship between the process and photographs is the contact print. The physical contact and intermit relationship between negative and print is something which I wish to explore and find really powerful.
The river project has natural tones which work well with this and many alternative processes, however, I want to ensure that if I do start exploring an alternative output I don't become obsessed over the technical nature and forget to create beautiful photographs in composition, light and exposure. Linking to beauty in photography there are references to the downfall of the technical photographer forgetting the reason why they are making the photograph.
I want to make beautiful photographs but I also need to remain conceptually and theoretically in control of the series.
